As a frequent flyer and loyal supporter of Uganda Airlines, I have always taken pride in promoting our national carrier. However, recent experiences have left me disappointed and concerned about the airline's commitment to service quality and customer satisfaction. This morning, I faced an unexpected disruption when my flight schedule was abruptly changed without prior notice or alternative solutions. This change interfered with my carefully planned commitments, including crucial business and administrative meetings. The lack of communication and consideration for passengers' time is unacceptable for an airline aiming to establish credibility and foster customer trust. Moreover, the state of the leased aircraft, particularly on routes to Johannesburg, raises serious concerns about safety and comfort. The aging planes on these flights not only compromise the travel experience but also pose potential risks to passengers. This decline in service, which has worsened since the beginning of 2024, is a stark contrast to the high standards Uganda Airlines once upheld. The quality of the onboard meals is another area of concern. The food provided is far below the expected standard, especially when considering the prices paid for tickets. Passengers rightfully expect value for their money, and the current offering does not reflect the level of service we should receive from a national carrier. Frequent delays and sudden schedule changes, coupled with insufficient communication and compensation for inconvenienced passengers, further erode customer loyalty. It is disappointing to witness such a lack of regard for the time and needs of passengers, and it is equally disheartening to see no meaningful attempts to address these recurring issues. Prominent personalities, such as Zari the Bosslady, have also raised similar concerns regarding Uganda Airlines' declining service standards. As a notable figure who frequently travels, Zari the bosslady expressed her dissatisfaction with the service, highlighting issues such as delayed flights and the overall drop in quality. Her critique mirrors the frustration shared by many loyal passengers. As a passionate advocate of Uganda Airlines, it is difficult to watch the decline in service quality and customer care. I hope the airline takes immediate steps to address these concerns, restore its reputation, and reaffirm its commitment to providing a reliable and pleasant travel experience for all passengers.
