Weather conditions have been a challenge on the search on Thursday but Acting Sergeant Christopher Grotherr said they're hoping to get a window a bit later on, if things clear up, fingers crossed, but getting to those areas as quickly as they can is a priority today. Search areas will now be focused on Sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Larapinta Trail, as well as other areas of lower priority. The rugged West MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia attracts thousands of hikers each year who take on some or all of the Larapinta Trail across 230 kilometres and 12 sections. NT Police are seeking information from the public as to Mr Thomson's whereabouts.
