US President Donald J. Trump has sharply criticized the Grammy Awards, calling the ceremony “unwatchable” and accusing its host, comedian Trevor Noah of making what he described as a false and defamatory statement about him during the broadcast. In a post shared on his X account (former Twitter) late Sunday night, President Trump described the Grammys as “the WORST” awards show and suggested that broadcaster CBS was fortunate to no longer carry the event. He also launched a direct attack on Noah, questioning his credibility and performance as a host. The President’s remarks followed a comment made by Noah during the ceremony, in which he referenced claims linking Trump and former President Bill Clinton to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island. Trump firmly rejected the claim, stating that he has never been to Epstein Island nor anywhere near it.

“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor any place close,” Trump wrote, insisting that he had never previously been accused of such actions, “not even by the Fake News Media.” Trump said the statement made during the broadcast was incorrect, false and defamatory  and demanded that the comedian get his facts straight. President Trump warned that he may pursue legal action against Noah, stating that his lawyers were prepared to sue over the remarks. He also referenced previous legal disputes involving media figures, suggesting similar outcomes could follow in this case.

The President further hinted that CBS, the network associated with the broadcast, could also be drawn into the dispute. “Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you,” Trump concluded. As of now, neither Trevor Noah nor Grammy Awards organizers have issued an official response to the President’s remarks.
