Hamas announced on Friday that it is prepared to release all Israeli hostages, both alive and dead, as part of a potential peace agreement. The group also said it is ready to negotiate details of U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed plan for peace in the Middle East through international mediators. In a statement, Hamas said it “affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss the details of this agreement.” The militant movement also confirmed its willingness to hand over the administration of Gaza to a neutral Palestinian body made up of independent technocrats, with support from Palestinian factions and regional partners. “The movement also renews its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents, based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support,” the group noted. The announcement follows Trump’s unveiling of a 20-point peace plan earlier this week at the White House, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The plan includes an immediate ceasefire once both sides agree, the release of all hostages within 72 hours, and a pathway—though not a guarantee—toward Palestinian statehood. It also ensures that no resident of Gaza would be forced to leave the territory. Trump has issued a sharp deadline to Hamas, saying they must accept the ceasefire proposal by 6 p.m. Sunday. Otherwise, he warned of severe consequences. “If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Hamas responded that while it is open to discussions on the peace plan, other issues—such as the long-term future of Gaza and Palestinian rights—must be addressed through a broader national consensus. “The other issues mentioned in President Trump’s proposal regarding the future of the Gaza Strip and the inherent rights of the Palestinian people… are to be discussed within a comprehensive Palestinian national framework,” Hamas said. The statement comes as Israeli forces continue a ground operation in Gaza City, where humanitarian conditions have reached a breaking point. International pressure has been mounting on Israel over the ongoing assault on the densely populated enclave.
