Yemen’s Houthi armed group has claimed responsibility for a missile fired earlier at Israel, saying it targeted Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airpot. In a statement cited by Al Jazeera, the Iran-aligned rebels, who control large parts of Yemen, alleged the strike was successful, forcing Israelis into shelters and disrupting operations at the country’s main international gateway. The group said the attack was carried out in retaliation for Israel’s actions in Gaza. Israel’s military confirmed it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen but said no sirens were triggered “in accordance with protocol.” Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the occupied West Bank, where at least five Palestinians, including a child, were arrested by Israeli forces in Qalqilya city, according to the Wafa news agency. The arrests followed raids in several neighbourhoods, with security forces also searching the homes of those detained. In Gaza, at least 11 Palestinians have been killed since dawn, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera. The dead include eight members of a family killed in an Israeli air strike on their home in Gaza City early this morning, two more killed in a strike on the Tuffah neighbourhood, and one person killed at a GHF aid distribution point.
