Iraguha Hadji, born on July 18, 1998, in Rwanda, is a talented and dedicated footballer who currently plays as a forward for Rayon Sports FC, one of Rwanda’s top football clubs. With a contract set to expire in May 2025, Hadji’s journey to professional football is a story of passion, resilience, and the influence of a supportive family. Iraguha’s love for football was sparked by his father, a passionate supporter of Etincelles FC. While Hadji initially did not know whether he would pursue football professionally, he credits his father’s enthusiasm for guiding him toward the sport. “I wasn’t sure if I was going to play football, but my father, with his love for the game and watching teams like Brazil, made me fall in love with football," he says. Hadji’s football career began at Gacuba Primary School, where he honed his skills in a competitive environment. It was here that he trained alongside players like Itangishaka Blaise and Bayisenge Emery, who played an instrumental role in his development. “It was at Gacuba that I first understood the game’s intensity and competitiveness, which set me up for where I am today,” he reflects. Iraguha’s professional career began with Vision JN, where he made his first steps in senior football. However, he faced challenges that led him to Marine FC before returning to Vision JN. His next move took him to Etoile d'Elest, where he continued to develop his craft and gain recognition for his talent. It was during this period that Rayon Sports FC, under the guidance of Coach Jamal, took notice of Hadji’s abilities. Coach Jamal encouraged him to elevate his performance, and Hadji accepted the challenge with determination. “Coach Jamal always told me to give more on the pitch, and that made me push even harder,” he says. This marked the beginning of his successful association with Rayon Sports. Since joining Rayon Sports FC, Hadji has become an essential part of the team, playing a pivotal role in the club’s successes. Notably, he helped secure victories in the Super Cup and Peace Cup, contributing significantly to the club’s recent achievements. “Playing for Rayon Sports and winning trophies with them has been one of the best experiences of my career," he expresses. “I am proud to represent this club.” As his contract nears its end in May 2024, Hadji’s focus remains on advancing both his professional career and personal growth. “I want to keep growing, both on the pitch and in my personal life," he affirms. "My family, especially my father, has always been there for me, and that support keeps me going.” A significant source of motivation for Hadji comes from his family, particularly his father, who constantly encourages him to succeed. Hadji acknowledges that his father’s unwavering support has been crucial in his journey to becoming a professional footballer. “My father always tells me to win, and when I don’t, he feels the loss with me. Sometimes he even calls me after a match to talk about how I played,” he says with gratitude. Throughout his career, Iraguha has faced intense competition for a spot in the starting lineup, especially from players like Onana and Ojera. These challenges, however, have fueled his growth as a player, encouraging him to push his limits and consistently strive for excellence. “It’s never easy fighting for a starting place, but it only makes me work harder,” he admits. Iraguha Hadji’s career is a testament to perseverance, resilience, and the power of family support. His journey from a young enthusiast to a key player in one of Rwanda’s premier football clubs highlights his unwavering commitment to his craft. As he continues to develop both on and off the pitch, Hadji’s potential for further success remains undeniable. With a bright future ahead, his story is one that inspires young footballers and fans alike.
