Kigali witnessed a historic night as Doja Cat delivered an electrifying performance at BK Arena on Tuesday evening. The concert marked her first-ever performance in Africa, a continent connected to her heritage through her South African father, and showcased Rwanda’s growing capacity to host world-class entertainment events. The show was part of Doja Cat’s Tour Ma Vie World Tour, which started in Auckland on November 18, 2026, and will continue through major cities including Pretoria, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Lisbon, concluding in New York City on December 1. The Kigali concert was organized in partnership with Global Citizen under its Move Afrika initiative, which previously featured Kendrick Lamar and John Legend. Doja Cat, born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini in 1995, captivated fans with hits like “Kiss Me More”, “Woman”, “Tia Tamera”, “Juicy”, and her latest singles “Jealous Type”, “Go Girl”, and “Just Us” featuring Jack Harlow. She interacted with fans in Kinyarwanda, asking “Bite?” to which the audience joyfully responded. The emotional high came as she closed with “Baby, I’m Jealous”, breaking down in tears during her first African performance. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, praised her extraordinary stage presence. The evening not only showcased Doja Cat’s global appeal but also cemented Kigali’s status as a key destination for international music events, delivering an unforgettable night for fans and the city alike.
