On November 15, 2025, residents of Ruvuzi Village in Murama Sector gathered for a community event featuring traditional games such as agati and igisoro, along with cycling and football competitions. The event was attended by Ngoma District Mayor Niyonagira Nathalie, the Executive Secretary of Murama Sector, and members of the Ngoma District Council. Cycling competitions began at 9:00 a.m., bringing together 9 women and 19 men. All participants received awards in recognition of their effort. As part of the day’s activities, two modern houses were built for vulnerable families. Additionally, one million Rwandan francs was provided to support residents’ community-based health insurance (Mutuelle de Santé). Ngendahimana Rashid, a resident of Gitaba Village and one of the beneficiaries, thanked the government for helping him access medical insurance and praised the organization for its continued support. “I thank the Wide Social Development Family for thinking about us. This is not the first time they have helped. God bless you,” he said. Emmanuel Nsabiyumva, President of the Wide Social Development Family, said the organization conducts annual charity activities across different districts in Rwanda. “Last year we were in Nkanga, Bugesera District. This year we came to Murama Sector in Ngoma District, and next year we will be in Nyanza District,” he said. He added that the association has operated for 14 years and now has more than 800 members committed to helping vulnerable people without expecting financial returns. “Our mission is to support people in need and help transform their lives,” he said. Mayor Niyonagira reaffirmed the district’s appreciation for the organization’s efforts. “We are grateful for their support, including paying health insurance for residents and building homes for vulnerable families,” she said. She encouraged more supporters, including members of the Rwandan diaspora, to invest in Ngoma District by developing projects such as hotels, noting that the district now has an updated master plan to guide land use and investment opportunities.

“Ngoma Mayor Niyonagira Natalie praised the Wide Social Development Family for uplifting vulnerable families and strengthening community welfare.”

“Emmanuel Sepa, a member of the Wide Social Development Family based in Australia, represented the team under the theme ‘Garuka Iwanyu Ufashe’, showing the diaspora’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.”

“Nsabiyumva Emmanuel says the Wide Social Development Family remains committed to supporting vulnerable people across Rwanda.”
