The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation is a charitable not-for-profit organization focused on promoting the health of women and girls throughout the world. In 2020, Rwanda signed a host agreement allowing for the foundation to establish its continental headquarters in Kigali. Its headquarters are expected to support governments in their efforts to build health systems by aligning funding with the priorities of the governments of the countries in which they work. Rwanda is one of the countries where the foundation is pursuing this work in close coordination with the Ministry of Health, among other partners.
