Sandrine Urujeni, NAEB Chief Operations Officer, said they are happy that the increase in exports has also led to economic growth.
She said, "If you look at the journey made in these 30 years, Rwanda has rebuilt itself and tea farming has developed, and foreign exchange has also increased because the income from agriculture has also increased. We will continue to support this development."
Urujeni advised tea farmers to increase production and quality.
The tea industry in Rwanda started in 1952, and now there are more than 51,000 tea farmers.
