A 41-year-old man, who was already facing charges over a dramatic altercation with Australian Federal Police (AFP) at Sydney Airport, has been re-arrested after allegedly assaulting several people at Central Station less than 24 hours later, reports 9News. The man was initially taken into custody on Wednesday morning after a confrontation with AFP officers at Sydney Airport. Police allege he became aggressive when approached, prompting officers to restrain him on the ground. During the arrest, one officer’s short-barrelled rifle was unintentionally discharged. He was granted conditional bail later that day. However, just hours after his release, the man was allegedly involved in another series of violent incidents. At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to the Suburban Concourse of Central Railway Station. According to authorities, the man approached a 45-year-old commuter, punched him in the face, and knocked him to the ground, causing a nosebleed. Police allege he then struck two more men in the head before attempting to steal a bag from a 20-year-old man. Officers intervened during the attempted theft and arrested him at the scene. While in custody, the man allegedly shoved a male constable in the chest. He now faces multiple new charges relating to assault and resisting police. This time, bail was refused, and the accused is scheduled to appear in court today.
