Kim explained that she was in New York with friends and went clubbing, something that was common in the late 1990s. After leaving the club in the early hours of the morning, the group planned to go to a house party. One of her friends, aware they might get separated, wrote her father’s address on Kim’s hand as a backup.

By around 5am, Kim says everything went wrong. She found herself alone, with no money, no phone, and no idea where her friends had gone. Unsure of what to do next, she walked out of the building feeling vulnerable and scared.

It was at that moment that she noticed Wesley Snipes nearby. Unsure whether he lived in the building or was just passing through, Kim gathered the courage to ask him for help. She asked if he could take her to the address written on her hand.

Snipes agreed but insisted they first stop for breakfast.
