The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said he is in good health, stating that his condition is better than many people believe. He noted that he takes a higher dose of aspirin than doctors recommend and uses cosmetic products to cover bruises and scars on his hands. Speaking in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump said he does not engage in regular physical exercise because he finds it boring. However, he maintained that this does not affect his overall health. Trump clarified that he underwent a CT scan in October 2025, correcting an earlier statement in which he had mistakenly told reporters that he had an MRI. According to him, the scan showed no health problems. Trump said that for the past 25 years he has been taking more aspirin than doctors advised. He explained that he takes 325 milligrams daily, rather than the 81 milligrams commonly recommended by some physicians to help prevent blood clots. “They want me to take less,” Trump said, adding that he does not wish to change a routine he has followed for decades. Trump’s physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbaella, said the CT scan was conducted to check for heart or blood vessel issues and that no abnormalities were found. Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which blood circulation in the leg veins is reduced and is common among older adults. He was advised to wear compression socks but has chosen not to do so. Trump denied ever falling asleep during public meetings, explaining that he sometimes closes his eyes because it helps him relax. Addressing visible marks on his hands, he said he carries cosmetic products to conceal scars and what appear to be blood clots. He also denied having any hearing problems, saying that photographs suggesting he is asleep often capture him with his eyes closed rather than actually sleeping.
