For the first time in Rwanda’s history, a special event has been organized to promote and showcase the talents of children aged between 3 and 15. The event, named Kiddo Talents Show, will take place on August 10th, 2025, at Kepler College – Kinyinya Campus, 2:00 PM. This initiative is being led by Kiddo Hub, a platform founded by a group of educators teaching at primary, secondary, and university levels, including Mbonyumugenzi Gentil Theodomir (Uncle Jay) and Ishimwe Emmanuel (The Star), who also serves as the program’s director. Their aim is to provide children with a space to express their talents, nurture them, and transform them into sustainable opportunities. According to the organizers, this idea was born out of everyday classroom observations and conversations with parents, which revealed that many children possess extraordinary talents but lack the recognition and support they need. The main goal is to promote these talents from an early age, link them with opportunities, and build a platform where children can develop self-confidence by stepping into the spotlight. No auditions or competitions were held for this first edition. Instead, the selected participants are children who have already shown potential in areas such as singing, dancing, poetry, acting, and drawing. The goal is to open doors for every child with talent, without discrimination. After this first edition, Kiddo Hub plans to expand the program nationwide, touring all provinces and selecting talented children from every district. These selected children will advance to regional showcases and then to a final national event to be held in Kigali. Before progressing, the children will receive coaching and mentorship from professionals in various creative fields. Outstanding participants will receive special training related to their talents (such as in music, drama, or fine arts), awards like learning materials or financial incentives, and the chance to have their projects professionally produced. Those who excel may also be given opportunities to perform at major events or compete on international stages. The message to parents and partners is clear: Kiddo Hub promises safety, collaboration, and transparency in this journey. The public is encouraged to support, engage, and invest in the next generation of Rwandan and African creatives.
