Chairman of APR FC, Brigadier General Deo Rusanganwa, has emphasized that, given the club’s resources and structure, no team in Rwanda can realistically compete with APR FC. Speaking to Igihe, Brig. Gen. Rusanganwa highlighted his achievements since taking leadership of the club, noting that winning three trophies in a single year was not unusual considering the support and investment the Ministry of Defense channels into the team. According to Rusanganwa, APR FC’s organization, management, and strategic planning set it apart from other Rwandan clubs. “For APR FC, this is not new. When you look at how the club is structured and the senior management’s dedication, it is clear. If I didn’t win three trophies, it would mean I hadn’t fulfilled my responsibilities properly,” he stated. He added that when comparing APR FC to other teams in Rwanda, no club comes close. “Honestly, if I make comparisons with other teams, I see no competitor. Sometimes people say football is unpredictable, but APR FC is well-prepared. Even though the team is not yet at 100%, which other team can I compare it to? I see none,” Rusanganwa noted. The chairman also acknowledged that, at times, internal management challenges exist and that the club faces expectations like any professional team. However, he reaffirmed that APR FC’s capabilities and infrastructure ensure it remains unmatched in Rwanda. “I believe that when I was given the responsibility to lead APR FC, I was entrusted with all necessary resources. That is why I am confident in aiming to win all possible trophies,” he concluded. APR FC continues to maintain its dominance in the Rwandan Premier League, backed by strong leadership, strategic investment, and a well-structured team both on and off the pitch.
