The agreements were signed on Wednesday, October 9, by Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Nduhungirehe and his Guinean counterpart Morissanda Kouyate.
Both ministers co-chaired the ministerial segment of the inaugural session of the Joint Permanent Commission between Rwanda and the Republic of Guinea.
During this meeting, the two ministers signed 12 agreements in different sectors including export promotion, public administration modernization, tourism, and cooperation in the area of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).
According to Minister Nduhungirehe, the partnership between the two countries is based on a win-win logic.
"The partnership between our two countries is part of a perspective of complementarity and a win-win logic. For example, Rwanda can benefit from Guinean expertise in many areas, including its expertise in the mining sector. For its part, Guinea can benefit from Rwanda's experience in the sectors of innovation and the digitalization of public services," he said.
In April 2023, Rwanda and Guinea signed an agreement to create a joint cooperation committee between the two countries and other agreements covering areas such as agriculture, ICT, education, mining, and security.
