Rwanda and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their longstanding partnership during celebrations marking the Official Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III in Kigali.   The event brought together government officials, diplomats, development partners, and members of the diplomatic community to celebrate the enduring relationship between the two nations.   Minister of State joined the High Commission of the United Kingdom in Rwanda for the occasion, underscoring the importance of the ties between Kigali and London. In her remarks, she praised the strong cooperation that has characterized Rwanda-UK relations over the years.   She noted that the partnership is built on mutual respect, continuous dialogue, and a shared commitment to advancing prosperity and sustainable development. According to the minister, these principles have enabled both countries to strengthen collaboration across various sectors, including trade, education, governance, and development.   The celebration also provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the bilateral relationship and explore avenues for further cooperation. Rwanda and the United Kingdom have maintained close diplomatic and economic ties, with both countries working together on initiatives aimed at promoting growth and improving livelihoods.   Representatives from the British High Commission highlighted the significance of the occasion, describing it as a symbol of the friendship and cooperation that continue to unite the two nations. They emphasized the UK's commitment to supporting Rwanda’s development ambitions while fostering stronger people-to-people connections.   King Charles III officially became monarch of the United Kingdom in September 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. His Official Birthday is celebrated annually through diplomatic events and ceremonies organized by British missions around the world.   The event in Kigali concluded with renewed commitments from both Rwanda and the United Kingdom to deepen their partnership and continue working together toward sustainable development, economic growth, and shared prosperity.
