Arsenal Say No to Real Madrid’s Offer to Swap Saliba for Rodrygo

Arsenal have said no to a deal from Real Madrid. Real Madrid wanted to take William Saliba from Arsenal and give them Rodrygo Goes in return. Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, wants to make the team stronger, especially in attack. Real Madrid saw this as a chance to ask for Saliba in a player swap for comming to join the team but Arsenal refused. They said Saliba is happy in London and he is not ready to go anywhere. Saliba also said he wants to stay at Arsenal and win big trophies. He said, “I’m happy here. I want to stay and win things. If you leave without winning, fans will forget you.” Real Madrid hoped they could get Saliba either for free in 2027 or cheaper next year when his contract has one year left. But now they see Arsenal won’t sell him. Coach Arteta said he is not thinking about transfers right now. He wants to focus on preparing the team for games in this season 2025/26. Arsenal’s decision leaves Rodrygo unsure about his future at Real Madrid. He’s not getting much playing time under the new coach, Xabi Alonso. Saliba is helping Arsenal a lot in defending, and the team started the season strong with a big win of 1–0 against Manchester United. Arsenal believe in him and want to keep him.
