Liverpool are preparing another major investment in their squad as they target Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with the Premier League club reportedly ready to make a move worth around £100 million.

The 23-year-old France international has emerged as one of Liverpool’s top transfer priorities as the club looks to rebuild its attack following the departure of Mohamed Salah, who left after a hugely successful nine-year spell at Anfield.

The Reds have already shown their willingness to spend heavily, completing deals worth more than £100 million for midfielder Florian Wirtz and striker Alexander Isak. A move for Barcola could become the club’s third record-breaking signing in a single transfer window.

PSG, however, are believed to value the winger much higher, reportedly seeking a fee closer to £145 million before considering a sale.

Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for around £38.5 million and has since developed into one of Europe’s most exciting attacking players. He has won multiple domestic trophies in France, including three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

He has also played a key role in PSG’s Champions League success, featuring in both recent finals as the French champions secured back-to-back European titles.

Liverpool’s interest is driven by their need for more attacking depth. With Salah gone and Hugo Ekitike sidelined by a long-term injury, manager Andoni Iraola is looking for a forward capable of creating chances, scoring goals and adding pace to the frontline.

Statistically, Barcola fits the profile Liverpool are seeking. Data from Opta shows his attacking numbers closely resemble those of former Liverpool winger Luis Díaz. His direct running, ability to beat defenders and movement inside the penalty area have made him one of Europe’s most dangerous wide attackers.

During the 2025-26 season, Barcola ranked among the top wingers in Europe’s major leagues for expected goals, shots and touches inside the opposition box. His style is based on attacking spaces, driving forward with the ball and creating goal-scoring opportunities.

Unlike Salah, who often controlled attacks from wide areas, Barcola offers a more direct approach, relying on speed, dribbling and aggressive pressing. His ability to win possession high up the pitch also matches Liverpool’s traditional intensity.

However, questions remain over whether his current experience justifies such a huge transfer fee. Some supporters believe £100 million or more represents a significant risk, especially considering he has sometimes shared playing time at PSG with players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué.

If Liverpool complete the deal, Barcola would become a statement signing and a central figure in the club’s new attacking era. At 23 years old, the French winger still has room to improve and could represent both an immediate solution and a long-term investment for the Reds.
